The Darkplane campaign setting takes place in the land of Vinramar, where tales of gothic horror, dark adventures, and the eternal battle between good and evil have raged in a fragile existence for millennia. Players may be hell-spawned daemons, firstborn jharethil, humans, or one of the other races who are involved in the War of Evermore. Vinramar holds a rich variety of lands, cultures, and creatures that color the world of Darkplane. For the righteous warrior, the clever rogue, or the ill-natured servant of darkness, there is a vast world waiting within this setting, ready for battle, adventure, and exploration all steeped in the horrific history and mythology of Vinramar.

 

There are two key themes to the Darkplane game - 1) almost every NPC is evil, forcing good characters to hide their virtue in many circumstances; and 2) the planes exist in a fragile balance, occupying the same physical locations in different spiritual realms, with the eternal battle between good and evil raging in all of them.
